About Me
I grew up in Israel and came to the U.S as a young adult with an undergraduate degree from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
My entire graduate and postgraduate education and training were here in the United States. My formal degrees and certifications in the field include two Masters degrees from Columbia University, a Ph.D. from California School of Professional Psychology and a post graduate Certificate in Analysis from the Psychoanalytic Institute of Northern California.
I have practiced psychology for over thirty years and bring a great deal of wisdom, passion and life experience to my work.
I am well versed in the full range of problems that commonly affect us human beings.
Issues such as relationships, communication, parenting, aging, illness, life transitions, anxiety, depression, low confidence and unhealthy coping mechanisms (eating disorders, substance use to name a few) that no longer serve us even though we continue to rely on them.
Being trained as a psychoanalyst significantly deepens my understanding of human nature and the kind of emotions and pain that can trouble us as human beings consciously or at times, unconsciously. These extra skills and my ability to “zero” in quickly, benefit all my patients, whether they come for a brief course of treatment or for a longer period of time. Whether you are looking for fast relief from your emotional suffering and/or are seeking the more intense and frequent encounter of a longer term treatment to gain a better understanding of life long and recurring, maladaptive patterns, I enjoy both modalities equally and find them to be useful and beneficial.
